1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the WakeArena Android mobile application ("App") or our website at https://wakearena-mu.vercel.app/ ("Website"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use WakeArena.

2. Alarm Functionality & Device Constraints

WakeArena is designed to provide high-accountability alarm scheduling. While we implement Android's highest-priority alarm APIs (AlarmManager.setAlarmClock()), device behavior depends on your smartphone operating system:

• 10-Minute Alarm Spacing: To ensure reliable hardware RTC scheduling, active alarms must be set at least 10 minutes apart.
• OEM Battery Optimizations: Many smartphone manufacturers (Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo) aggressively terminate background processes. You are responsible for configuring your phone's battery settings and "Allow restricted settings" on Android 13+ as detailed in our OEM Configuration Guide.
• No 5-Minute Auto-Shutoff: WakeArena does not automatically shut off after 5 minutes. Inactivity triggers rage quit penalties (-50 coins, +4 escapes, streak reset to 0).
• Audio Volume: When tapping "Start Task" to enter cognitive games, alarm volume drops to 75% to assist concentration while maintaining wakefulness.

3. Virtual Economy & TickPass Rules

WakeArena includes a gamified virtual economy featuring virtual coins, wake-up streaks, and TickPasses:

• No Real-Money Value: Virtual coins and TickPasses are strictly in-app motivational game items. They have no monetary cash value, cannot be redeemed for fiat currency, and are completely non-transferable between accounts.
• Speed-Tiered Rewards: Passing a wake-up session grants coins based strictly on solving speed (under 60s = 50 coins; 60–89s = 35; 90–119s = 30; 120–179s = 25; 180–239s = 20; 240–299s = 15; 300+s = 10).
• TickPass Allotment & Pricing: New users receive 5 TickPasses upon signup. Every active user receives +3 additional TickPasses on the 1st of every month (UTC) via our cloud edge function. TickPasses may also be acquired in the shop using earned coins (1 for 50, 3 for 140, 5 for 230, 10 for 450).
• Emergency Skip Penalties: Redeeming a TickPass on the ring screen incurs +2 escapes. Redeeming at the Checkout Barrier incurs +1 escape. Neither deducts coins, but both reset your streak to 0. TickPass redemption requires active internet connectivity and is blocked offline.
• Rage-Quit Penalties: Departing the app during an active alarm or game (detected in onPause()) starts a 5-second grace window. Returning within 5 seconds cancels the grace period without penalty. If 5 seconds expire without return, or if you stall at the Checkout Barrier for 30s, you incur a penalty of -50 coins (never below 0), +4 escapes, and your streak resets to 0.

4. Cognitive Verification Challenges

To dismiss an alarm without penalty, users must pass at least 3 out of 5 cognitive challenges (Visual Memory, Colour Paint, Sequence Memory, Ascending Order, Copycat) within 60 seconds each, or complete the 90-second Colour Tap recovery game (10 commands). 5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

WakeArena is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for extreme reliability, we cannot guarantee that your device hardware, third-party OEM operating system, depleted battery, or silent mode overrides will not prevent an alarm from sounding.

WakeArena is not liable for missed appointments, flight delays, employment disciplinary actions, or any consequential damages arising from alarm failure, device misconfiguration, or software bugs.
