How does WakeArena silence an alarm?
You must clear at least 3 out of 5 short cognitive mini-games (Visual Memory, Colour Paint, Sequence Memory, Ascending Order, and Copycat). Each game has an independent 60-second timer. See the full breakdown in our Gameplay Guide.
What happens if I fail the mini-games?
You land at the Checkout Barrier with 30 seconds to choose between playing the 10-step Colour Tap recovery game or spending an emergency TickPass. Full details are in the Checkout Barrier Guide.
How does the anti-cheat watchdog work?
If you press the Home button, switch apps, or turn off the screen, a 5-second grace period starts (detected in the Activity's onPause()). Returning within 5 seconds cancels it; abandoning it triggers a rage quit (-50 coins, +4 escapes, streak resets to 0). Learn more in the Anti-Cheat Guide.
Is there a 5-minute auto-shutoff?
No. In practice, the ring screen shuts off after 30 seconds of inactivity plus a 5-second grace period (35 seconds total) with a rage-quit penalty. Read the Timer Specifications.
Why must alarms be at least 10 minutes apart?
Active alarms must be scheduled at least 10 minutes apart to prevent overlapping audio services and conflicting session states. Learn more in the Alarm Scheduling Rules.
2. Coins, TickPasses & Economy
How do I earn wake-up coins?
Coins are awarded based on completion speed: under 60s gives +50 coins, scaling down to +10 coins for 300s+. Full speed brackets are listed in our Economy Matrix.
What is a TickPass and how many do I get?
A TickPass is an emergency lifeline that dismisses an alarm with 0 coin loss (adds escapes and resets streak to 0). You get 5 on signup, plus +3 free on the 1st of every month via our server. See TickPass Rules.
Can I buy coins or TickPasses with real money?
No. WakeArena has zero pay-to-win microtransactions. You buy TickPass bundles in the shop using earned in-game coins (1 for 50, 3 for 140, 5 for 230, 10 for 450). Full shop pricing is in the Shop Guide.
How do rewarded video ads work?
Watching an optional sponsored video grants +10 coins, with a maximum of 10 ads per day and a strict 5-second cooldown between views. Details are in the Ad Economy Guide.
How does the community leaderboard work?
The leaderboard features real Supabase rankings across three tabs: Coins, Streaks, and Escapes. Public nicknames are permanent once registered. View details on the Leaderboard Page.
3. Device Reliability & Offline Use
Does WakeArena work without internet?
Yes. Alarms, mini-games, and the Colour Tap recovery game work completely offline. Any penalties incurred offline are saved locally and synced automatically when you reconnect. Features requiring internet include account sign-in, TickPass usage, the shop, ads, and leaderboards. See Offline Architecture.
